Course description

We still have a lot to learn about dealing with the after-effects of COVID-19 infection. However, disorders and damage caused by the virus in the body can have the same TCM pathologies as other types of infections or chronic diseases. In this regard, there is a wealth of experience in TCM from which we can draw. The follow-up of COVID-19 infections using TCM therefore occupies an important place alongside Western medicine.

This webinar is intended to serve as inspiration and to show treatment options after COVID-19 infections. In addition, the information can also be used as a reference for the follow-up of other infectious diseases. The seminar is aimed at practitioners specialising in acupuncture, phytotherapy, tuina and dietetics.

In this 2-day webinar, Yifan Yang will discuss the following topics:
• Main symptoms following COVID-19 infection.
• Cause and pathology according to TCM
• Presentation of the 7 most common TCM syndromes
• TCM phytotherapy and acupuncture as the main treatment methods
• The right choice of food and special exercises for daily support
• Tuina massage, as needed, for specific patient groups and diseases.
• Eseful tips for choosing the right therapy methods
• Precautions and advice for safe practice

Day 1: General introduction, discussion of the first 3 TCM patterns and their treatment
2nd day: Discussion of the other 4 TCM patterns and their treatment

Yifan Yang

Lecturer

Dr. Yifan Yang studied Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Beijing from 1977 to 1982. Subsequently, she worked as a doctor and TCM teacher and received a master's degree in Chinese herbal medicine. Since 1990 she has practiced and taught in Holland.

In her thirty-plus years of practice, Yifan Yang has accumulated a wealth of experience in the treatment of a variety of ailments. She gives seminars and works as a supervisor in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Poland and Switzerland. Topics include Chinese herbal medicine and nutrition as well as psychosomatic diseases and generally difficult to treat cases.

Yifan Yang is the author of the following books: Chinese Herbal Medicine - Comparisons and Characteristics (2002/2010), Chinese Herbal Formulas - Treatment Principles and Composition Strategies (2010) and she co-authored The Treatment of Pain with Chinese Herbs and Acupuncture. (2002).

In 2013, Yifan Yang received the highest clinical TCM award in China, which is equivalent to a senior specialist and professor of TCM.
